Start with these checks
Update the app
Install the latest available version from the App Store, then restart KitchenEdgeVault.
Check iOS permissions
Open iOS Settings and review photo, microphone and notification permissions for KitchenEdgeVault.
Protect your records
Before removing the app or clearing data, export a local backup if you want to keep your records.
Records, backup and restore
Use Vault to review all records and export a local backup. When importing, carefully choose whether to merge with existing records or replace them. Replacing can overwrite the current local set. The app’s clear-all-data option removes local app records and cannot normally be undone without a separate backup.
Photos, voice notes and reminders
Photos and voice notes are optional. If capture is unavailable, verify the relevant permission in iOS Settings. Reminders remain off until you enable them in Vault and grant notification permission. Notification delivery may also depend on iOS Focus and notification settings.
Whetstone timer and comparisons
Whetstone sessions can record elapsed time by grit stage. To compare a knife, create at least two records for the same tool and open Compare. Some HD exports may require Coins.
Coins and purchase issues
Coin packs are optional consumable in-app purchases and are not subscriptions. Apple processes payment. For billing, declined purchase or refund questions, use Apple’s purchase support. If a completed purchase is not reflected in the app, contact us with the app version, iOS version, approximate purchase time and Apple transaction reference. Do not send full payment-card information.
Contact support
Email bangnetgal@bangnetgal.com. Include the problem, steps that led to it, iPhone model, iOS version and app version. Attach a screenshot only if it does not reveal information you do not want to share.
Common workflows
Add and maintain tool profiles
Create profiles for individual kitchen tools, then use Workbench to record edge condition, maintenance type, whetstone stages, technique information and notes. Use a consistent, recognisable name for each tool so that its history remains easy to identify.
Find past records
Timeline presents recent activity in date order, while All Records provides a broader history. The current product supports search and filters for edge status and maintenance type. Per-tool timelines can also show days since the last check and a simple estimate for a future check.
Log a batch sharpening session
When maintaining several knives in one sitting, batch logging lets you move through the selected tools in sequence. Review the tool, status and maintenance method before saving each entry.
Backup and device transfer
A local backup can preserve tool and maintenance records for later import on another compatible device. “Merge” attempts to retain current records while adding backup content. “Replace” overwrites the current local data set with the backup. Keep an untouched copy before importing and use only files from a source you trust.
Reports and exports
The app may create comparison images and PDF reports for personal organisation. Exported results are not a professional blade assessment. Selected HD comparison exports or monthly reports may require Coins; the app displays the applicable requirement before the action is completed.
Response and privacy
We aim to reply within a reasonable period. Complex issues may require the app version, reproduction steps or limited diagnostic details. Never send passwords, full card information, an Apple Account password or unrelated private photographs. See our Privacy Policy for support-data handling.
